HATS OFF TO WRITERS

Recently i had the experience of attempting to compose a short story in order to enter a wonderful competition. i thought that it would be easy- How wrong i was!- i planned my strategy - writing X number of words per day in order to meet the deadline imposed. i struggled day by day to even write enough rubbish to met my word count. i found that i had no creative juices at all and found the whole experience very very tough. (needless to say i did not enter my story to the competition) So i say HATS OFF TO WRITERS - i have the upmost respect for you.

I'm sure that you didn't write rubbish. Judging by your posts, you are very good at writing. I think you should persevere.

i must agree with the monster and with inkpot. judging from the story (a winning story too) that i read of yours, you are extremely talented and imaginative and have a really readable compelling style. however, i have to say that like you, i thinking writing is very very hard. i don't know which is the worst, trying desperately to think of an idea, with terrible effort expand the idea to a plot and then have the labourous task of writing it. my problem is that i never have anything to say and can't say it anyway. so i agree writing is HARD and my respect to the wordsmiths has gone up a lot
